In this group of exercises you will work with your two hands to reach independence (it is important that you sing the subdivisions like Horacio does). Your right hand plays the Clave in the Wood Block, the left hand will play each one of the 16 Sixteenth notes. In this video you have two exercises with the 7th Sixteenth note of the bar and later with the 8th Sixteenth note of the bar.
Now we are going to keep going because, you are such a good student I do not have to sing any more, but you are going to have to do it. Ok? So, even when you don’t sing, you have to keep in your mind that pulse, the pulse of the ta, ta, ta, ta… Of that subdivision that we have under there. Here we go with the seventh note. 1, 2, 3, 4… Now, number eighth. 1, 2, 3, 4… This exercise is part of the group “Clave Control Exercises” from 05015 to 05023. We are studying separately each one of the subdivisions that we have practiced before. We will begin with sixteenth notes and a Rumba Clave pattern. To make a distinction between what we have studied before, now we will “sing” the subdivisions and we will use our hand to apply the different sixteenth notes in each time of the bar.
