Description

In the previous exercises we have worked with 1 and 2 strokes, now we will use 3 strokes in the BassDrum. We continue with the same structure. Your right hand plays Cáscara in Wood Block, your other hand plays quarter notes in snare, your right foot plays the Clave with the Foot Cowbell and the BassDrum plays the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Sixteenth note of the bar.

Commentary:

Then groups of four notes starting from the second sixteenth. 1, 2, 3, 4… So, the same you guys should do with the groups of fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, nineth, tenth, eleventh until you get to the sixteen, so you fill again the whole mixture of the Clave. Then remember, don’t forget to listen to the music, don’t forget to get the records, hear every kind of different rhythms and make the Afro Cuban style a style of respectability.
