The second important pattern that I want to explain now is called Cáscara. This is also a two bar pattern and it comes from the Clave. The same pattern can be played in both Claves, the son and the rumba Clave. So, the Clave is the one which is going to give the difference between the feels, but the pattern is the same. So now, I’m going to play a 3/2 Rumba Clave. One, two, three, four…. Son Clave: One, two, three, four….
