Description

The master Giovanni introduces you to other variations of the 6/8 patterns for “Shekere,” played in the”Yoruba” ceremonies (Lukumi) with three Shekeres. Here you have the first one.

 

Commentary:

Then, another variation on the Shekere is in the 6/8 feel, like we play for Güiros, Bembés, ok? Guidos, the meaning of guidos is ‘gord’; but in the Yoruba ceremony, “Lukumi,” when you do that ceremony, we call that guidos, “Let’s go to a Guiro”, “Today is a Guiro party…” So that means three Shekeres, one Conga, one cowbell, right? 1, 2, 3, 4 , 5, 6…
